What do you like best about being a part of the Dwight Rudd team?
I love being surrounded by a group of people who are so passionate about what they do. While our firm was founded in 1949, there is a real entrepreneurial feel to the organization. As students of the industry and to the business world, we are always looking for ways to improve. From making our company the best possible place possible to work for our employees to delighting our clients with exemplary service and thoughtful advice, we have almost an insatiable appetite for bettering ourselves.
What do you love to do outside of work?
I most enjoy spending time in the outdoors with my wife and two young children. Hiking, camping, skiing, or simply working in the yard, we strive to spend as much time in the outdoors as possible. It’s been really fun to see our elementary school aged children become so passionate about so many of the activities that my wife and I have exposed them to. And there is nothing better than your kindergartener asking you in July how long it will be before we can go skiing again!
How do you want your clients to view their insurance?
Insurance is a known cost for an unknown outcome and an incredibly powerful tool to hedge against the risk of catastrophic financial loss. I like my clients to look at insurance as a vitally important component of their overall financial plan. We are professional advisors in a space where most have simply been sold a policy. To me, this is the most exciting part of my job. Helping people improve and simplify their property and casualty insurance program, and demonstrating to them that their relationship to their insurance advisor can be so much more meaningful and powerful than they had ever thought possible.
